What we’ve been up to….

It’s been a while. Honestly nothing blog worthy has been going on! We’ve basically just been on a baseball field. Except for the 2 weeks where it rained like every day straight. Yeah that stunk.

But the fall ball season has been going great actually. Avery is having the time of her life and is pretty good little ball player, even though some of the boys (and their families!) aren’t very welcoming of girls on the team. Whatever. #playlikeagirl

Some pics of Sissy the past month or so….I just love her so much!

Will is having a great season too. It’s definitely been a transitional year going from coach-pitch to kid-pitch. But it’s still fun and he gets on base a lot. And then steals 2nd. And then steals 3rd. And then waits for the bases to get loaded by walks and then gets walked home. Ha!

He made his pitching debut about a week ago. He did great considering he has practiced about 5 pitches total. In his first inning he faced 4 batters and struck out 3. Not too bad!

I’ve got a great group of moms on his team. Actually his and Avery’s team have some great moms!

Here are shots of him over the past month or so….

Opening Day

It’s baseball time again! And this season both of the kids are playing at North Wake. Too bad Wake Forest traffic has gotten super bad lately!!

Avery had her first game earlier this week.  She is on a co-ed t-ball team (although they don’t use the tee very much).  She was super proud to get her uniform on. #playlikeagirl

She played great….she played shortstop the first 2 innings of their 4 inning game and right center the last 2 innings. She was up to bat 3 times and got on base every time.  She was over the moon excited.

Near the end of her game, the players for the next game on the field started gathering around. It just so happened that it was a softball game on that field next…..a big girls softball game. They were all crowded around the backstop when Avery was up to bat and they were being so sweet and supportive to their fellow female player.   When I told Avery later that the big girls were cheering so hard for her I thought she was going to explode with excitement and pride.

The next morning the very first thing she said was asking about her next ball game. She is READY!

Will’s first game was rained out but we did get to play a few nights later. It was a gorgeous, gorgeous night for baseball. You can see the gorgeous sunset in some of the pics I took.

It was a tough game…everyone’s first game of kid-pitch. It went better than I expected but we didn’t get to play the whole game because we hit the 2 hour time limit. We lost 12-11. I think if we had played the rest of the game we would have won.

Will played 3rd and 1st and played pretty good. You can tell it is early in the season. He was up to bat 3 times and walked all 3 times. He scored 2 runs and his walks pushed 2 runs in as well.

The game ended an hour after his bedtime! We were all tired the next day!
