Aquarium Fun

Last weekend, the children and I made our way to the coast hoping for a fun weekend while Matt was in Raleigh at a volunteer thing all weekend.   We got on the road early on Friday and had a good trip down, making it down in time for dinner.

And things went a little South.....Dad had a terrible cold and almost immediately my throat started hurting it seemed.  Well, that is a little bit of an exaggeration but I was MISERABLY sick with a head cold this week.

Then overnight Friday night, Mom got the stomach bug. UGH!! Poor her! Our plans for being at the brand new Hobby Lobby were wrinkled....but that doesn't matter.  So with the change of plans, I took the kids to the aquarium for a few hours.  We had so much fun!

We didn't know it until we got there, but it was "Fairy Day" or something like that. 

We got to go to a classroom and make fairy wands, color, play games and Avery got her face painted.

We saw the divers in the big tank. One was dressed as a serpent. Avery was not a fan.

We ventured outside for a bit, where Will and Avery made a "fairy house".

Before we left, they rescued and treated a few turtles. I had never seen this before there. I guess it has been a few years since I have been to this aquarium. The children loved this!!

Unfortunately Will got the stomach bug overnight Saturday night and it took him several days to recover.  Will spring ever come and let us get outside away from all these germs!?!??!
