Dear Will-
As you turn SEVEN years old……
-You weigh 57.5 pounds and are 51.5 inches tall.
-You are a shining star this year at school in First Grade. Fingers crossed the rest of the year continues to go well.
-You are still very into sports, with a recent interest in baseball. You are playing fall baseball this year on the Pirates. We procured your first “cup” this week! Ha!
-You are an avid reader and have moved into chapter books in the last 6 months or so. We definitely need to get you some new books in the house. Your favorite book is a book on World War II you picked up at the book fair at school.
-You are also still an avid Lego engineer and get in trouble on a daily basis at bath and bed time because of the distracting Legos in your room.
-You are a little fish in the water. Swimming, diving, cannon balling, hand stands…..they are all in your repertoire.
-In the past year, you have become quite the little Nascar fan, courtesy of Pops. You are his special little man, Will. Don’t ever forget that.
-You still amaze me with your big brain and random nuggets of knowledge. Daddy and I keep talking about getting you a Guinness Book of World Records, but we aren’t sure we are ready for the constant citations from the book. Or worse yet, reenactments!
-We went back to Disney this year and you got to experience a few “new to you” rides, including Tower of Terror, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Rock ‘n Roller Coaster. You are definitely a thrill seeker. But it warmed my heart to see a genuine smile on your face with something as simple as Mickey too.
-You still love your Sissy very much, but it has been “interesting” to watch y’all’s relationship change over the past year as you have each grown up. I know you two will grow apart for a period but I also know at the end of the day, there will always be goodnight kisses.
-You still have many nicknames, courtesy of Avery: Bubba, Baba, Bubby, Bobby (which is really confusing to some when you are on the ball field) and most recently, Mr. Cuddles. The few times she does actually say your name, it is a country-fied “Wheeeeeeeel”.
-You are definitely a technology wiz….you love to be on the computer or iPad. Thankfully you still love to stretch your legs outside too. Your bike is a favorite right now. In fact, you got a new, bigger bike for your birthday!
You are my baby boy. Always will be. We definitely have our moments lately but you are making me grow so much as a parent and a person. Plus, you make me smarter because we are always having to research something your questioning mind has brought up. I love watching you play ball and love playing ball with you. Sports played such a big, and fun, part of my life and I love that you enjoy them as well. But even when your interests change, I will be right there beside you, still cheering you on.
Happy Birthday, Bubba.
Love,
Mommy
