Royalty

I cut out of work a few hours early on Friday, well, for a multitude of reasons, and ran into Target for band-aids and a thing of medicine.  $100+ later (who's counting!??!?!?!) I left. But not before picking up this ADORABLE "Princess of NC State" outfit for Avery.  I surprised her with it this afternoon.

We were getting ready to go to the grocery store and she asked if she could wear it to the store. I said of course she could.  To which she replied "The people are going to love it."

For those who don't know Avery that well, you may ask what people. Why her people, of course.

To quote my mom this afternoon, "We made her this bad, didn't we?"

Oh well.....we are still accepting contributions to Avery's wedding fund for those who are interested.

I also left Target with this find for my boy who is starting the big "K" next week.... I think he'll like, what do you think????

Father's Day 2012

Just a short post to remember Father's Day 2012.....just too many emotions and too many things to say to go into it. I will say that I love my dad so much and I immensely proud to be his daughter and just over the moon with how well he has done the past 3 months.  This week will be 3 months.....

And to my husband.....what a rock he has been both as a partner and a father.  He has weathered his own storms these past few months as well and an end result was some quality time with his kids.  I really can't ask for more.

For Dad's gift, we took pics of the children holding letters to spell out "Pops".  I forgot to take a picture of the finished project, but these are the snapshots I used.

For Matt's gift, I interviewed the kids. I love how they didn't hear each other answer and yet still gave the exact same answer for his weight!!!!!

We also went to a wedding that weekend. A beautiful wedding right on the water. The children had such a blast dancing their little hearts out!!! Warning: tons of pics!!

Ocean Isle

A few weeks ago we spent the weekend at the beach at Matthew's family beach house. We don't get there
often but we had a great time.

It was a short trip because it was a particular busy time in Raleigh for us and we couldn't get away for many days. The trip seemed even shorter because we ran into some traffic issues on the down. But we finally got there!!!

The weather was wonderful, hands down. Not too hot or windy and a beautiful, calm ocean that was very friendly to small children.

The children had so much fun playing on the beach!

Trying skim boarding...

Little surfer dude!

The little fiddler crab was the size of a baby goldfish.

G and G were down for the week too with her family. We had fun hanging out with them, especially at night after the kids (finally) went to bed. Matthew and I rarely get to hang out with them as adults so that was really nice.

They had fun playing on the beach with the kids.

Who doesn't like jumping waves?!?!?

Pomp & Circumstance

A few Friday's ago, Will graduated from preschool!  Will has been at this school since he was 5 months old so obviously  we have a lot of ties and memories here

The weather was iffy that day. Lots of short storms followed immediately by bright sunshine. All that equals a sauna!! You can probably see the steam rising off the pavement in the pictures because there was a shower just a few minutes before the ceremony began.

To pass the time before the ceremony, they watched a movie. Someone fell asleep for part of it!! Avery and Matthew watched for a little while too!

Will with his Mrs. Michelle. She has been his teacher for 3 years and they just love each other.

Processional. Avery was yelling at her BaBa.

Song and dance. Get down, Will!!

 A hot and bothered Avery!

Diploma time

Reception. The teachers put together a really cute picture slide show. Seeing Will and his buds back as babies made me get teary. There are 3-4 kids that have been there together for the duration. They really have grown up together.

Matthew and I gave him a set of NCSU pencils and a NCSU notebook for a graduation gift. Pretty sure he
will end up there one day!!!
