9 Years Old

Dear Will-

On your 9th birthday,

IMG_9666

-You weight 65lbs and you are 4 feet, 8 inches tall.

-You are now a 3rd grader. Or as Avery says a 3rd grader and a half since you go to 4th grade for math. You are a super smart kiddo.

-Your favorite things to do are read, play baseball, play video games, do crossword puzzles, Sudoku and jigsaw puzzles. Oh, and torment your sister.

-Yes, while you and Avery are still 2 peas in a pod, the brother/sister annoying/teasing/fighting has come out. But 99% of the time you have a little smile on your face as all this is going on. I know you love her because every morning when she climbs in your bed you scoot over to make room for her and then snuggle up to her and y’all fall back asleep.

-You have become a great little baseball player. You’re on the Red Sox this fall (3rd time!!) and this is your first season of kid pitch. It will be interesting!!!! I hope you still like baseball after these long, kinda boring games.

-Reading is still one of your favorite activities.  We go to the library every 2 weeks and we check out at least 40 books. You have your share read in the first 3 or 4 days.

-I am still stepping on all your Legos on a daily basis. I can’t wait to see all the new sets you get for your birthday and watch you put them together. I can almost see the little wheels turning in your head.

-You and Daddy are watching all the Star Wars movies together right now.  You love your dad so much….I love seeing the 2 of you snuggled up on the sofa watching the movies. Or on the ball field. Or going on one of y’all’s long bike rides.

-Football season is officially here and you are excited! You love you some Wolfpack!

Will, there is no way you are 9 years old. No way. Mainly because I’m not that old. Ha! But it’s been a pleasure watching you grow this past year. I have never been more proud of you than I have been this past year. I plan on spending this year giving you lots of hugs and kisses because who knows, when you hit double digits next year you are liable to not let me do any of that anymore!!

Love,

Mom

  1. Will happy happy 9th! Wow what an amazing journey your first 8 years have been. The next 8 will be filled with twice as much fun and maybe if you can convince you MOM you might even get your driver's permit in 7 years.
    Lots of hugs and love
